Support Groups

Avenues Counseling, LLC has partnered with non-profit organizations in the Green County community to provide a comfortable and safe space, as well as facilitation, for support groups so that members of the community do not have to drive to bigger cities in order to find the support they are needing around specific challenges and life events. Currently we are holding the following groups:

Cancer Support Groups

The first Wednesday of each month from 6pm-7pm, Survivors of Breast Cancer Group is held for all who have gone through a cancer journey, specifically breast cancer. The last Wednesday of each month from 6pm-7pm, All Cancers and Caregivers Group is held for anyone who has gone through a cancer journey themselves or who is a loved one or caregiver of someone who has gone through a cancer journey. These groups are in partnership with Justice for a Cure and the Dawn Lengel Memorial. The group is made up of individuals just recently diagnosed, in the middle of treatment, just in remission, or who have been in remission for up to 20 years. The various phases of cancer journeys create a strong group dynamic as those who are in remission find meaning and purpose in their journey through helping those who are newly diagnosed and in treatment to have hope and strength while also being a great source for anyone who has gone through a cancer journey.
