Melissa Schellenberger

I have worked in the mental health field for over 20 years in various roles throughout my career and education.

Through those experiences I began utilizing a few basic steps with my clients.

I first like to get an understanding of not only who you are, but how you came to be you.  Your experiences, no matter how small, good or bad, shaped who you are today and can often lend insight into the best treatment modality for your individual needs. The next step begins with a basic understanding of how the mind and brain function; in harmony or in conflict.  I believe in the adage that knowledge is power and my hope is to restore your sense of power and perseverance, which can so easily fall to the wayside when we go through difficulties or complications with our emotional wellbeing. Finally, I like to remind my clients they are not only here to learn, but also to teach.  I learn from your life experiences, all of the unique situations, past histories, and current events.  Through your sharing I am always learning.
